10 photo descriptions

                                                                Railing
I took this photo because I thought It would add a nice piece to my collection. I personally like this picture because the railing is leading your eye to the two subjects. Also this follows the rule of thirds. As well as the element line. This Is why I like this picture.
                                                               Fountain
I took this picture for fun it came out really good on the computer. I did take it for a couple reasons. The picture has the elements pattern and shape. Also the water coming out is a very nice part of it. This is why I took this picture.
                                                                Bike Lane
I thought that this picture was unique because the bike is right on top of the sign that says bike lane. For this picture I had to wait very patiently. I took many shots to get it at the exact moment I needed it to. This photo was annoying to take because of the wait but it was worth it.
                                                               Self portrait
This picture wasn’t really expected. When I took it was for fun. My teacher had told me that it was a self portrait because I took a picture of a shadow. When I pulled it up I didn’t really expect anything great but it turned out a good picture.
                                                            Brooklyn Bridge
This picture was an inspiration of a photo I had seen before. This was on the Brooklyn Bridge. It is called leading line. The lines on the side wall lead your eyes to look at the people in the front. Also for a change I wanted to try to take the picture in an different angle. That’s what I accomplished.
                                                             Ball on A stick
When I took this picture, I was thinking about the viewers, and I wanted to make them ask questions, like what is that. So that’s what I did. This is a picture of a ball on a stick. This picture was taken in Time Square. That’s about it for this picture.
                                                                   Lions Paw
Dr, Lansing said we cannot take pictures of statues. He said we can take pictures of its hands legs. So I took advantage of that. I took a picture of a lions paw. I didn’t really like it on my tiny compact camera so I was going to delete it. Than I remembered what Dr.Lansisng said not to delete photos so I didn’t. On the computer it was great. That is the story behind this picture.
                                                                     Bench
For this picture the minute I saw it I knew it would be great. It has patterns, lines ,  and even leading the line. It turned out great. Even the color and contrast between the bench and the floor.  As well as the pattern on the ground. Well that’s it for this story.
                                                                  Door Knob
At the beginning of the class we all got to pick inspirational photos. My friend had a picture of a door knob. I was thinking of that photo when I took this one. The photo was unique because it had a rain drop falling down. I caught it at that split second. This is why I  like this photo.
                                                            Product Photography
This photo was taken as an inspirational photo was taken in class. I like this photo because the background. The background is a very nice color and it suites the product. My teacher told me I could sell it to EBay.   I was surprised. This is why I like and took this photo

10 Final Photos

img_0159
I like how the picture came out to look like my boot is going into a dark hole. I took a picture of my boot in the construction wall because i thought it would look interesting. This picture shows contrast, shapes, and texture.

I took this photo when i saw this pole and a female subject next to the pole and they just happened to have matching colors. I see balance between the girl and pole because of the black and brown on both sides of the photo. And i also used emphasis on the pole.

Before i took this photo i just bought a bottle of fiji water and i put it in the air next to the bus. I think it shows movement of traffic flow, like water flowing on the streets. And it makes an arrow toward the traffic, so shapes is an element used.

When we went to central park i took a picture of us climbing on the rocks. It shows the rough texture of the rock. This photo also shows contrast between the rock and the sky.

i didn't really expect this picture to come out like this even though it came out better. I like the texture of the ripped rubber/plastic part. I also like the frame the black line is making.

I took this photo outside the court house near st. benedicts. I like how the dirt between the bricks came out. It's seems as if the subject is leaving a trail. It shows color and lines.
s7301472
I took this photo of Evans Saso in one of the lounges in the HAB. He was actually sitting facing opposite the light coming in and i think that mistake made the photo come out better. I like the black background and the light hits the subject.
s7301531
I took this photo while in NY and i saw this fire escape and a dog looking outside the window. But when i looked at the picture i found out it was just a statue. I like the lines on the building and the colors through out the photo. The window at the right reminds me of a old haunted house movie or scene. This photo shows a lot of lines and shapes.

I captured this photo when walking on the BK bridge. the two ladies walked by and it shows that they are following the  directions of walking on that side rather than on the right. This shows movement, lines, and contrast.

I was walking with Xavier and we came across this orange and white construction path and i thought it would be interesting to take a photo of Xavier walking into it. This shows patterns, movement, and color.

The Photography Journey of the Photography Class

Presentation Day is near and so is the ending of the Photography Class. To start out I want to say that this class showed and taught me about photography and how to take good pictures. If it wasn't for Dr. Lansang and Mr. Achariam's  knowledge of photography  the class wouldn't be as fun as it was. Dr. Lansang chose ten pictures that I took to present in Presentation Day and I will talk about explain them here in this blog post.

My first picture was taken in the Newport, NJ in which I took inside a hotel. The picture was part of a sculpture hanging on top of the entrance doors. The part of the sculpture that I took a picture of was the top part of it. The interesting part of the picture that I took was that  from far away it looks like white petals on a bent stem of a flower. The second picture was taken in a dock in Newport. The picture was of a dock near a bank. The view of the dock seemed like it was part of a movie and so I decided to take a picture of it.

The third picture that was taken was in the park next to the Hall of Records in Newark, NJ. The picture was of a trash can. The picture was emphasizing the lines that repeated around the green trash can. The fourth picture was taken in High line Park, NY. The picture was simple but it was interesting because I took it slanted. The picture that I took was of the stairs that led to the park.

The fifth picture that I took was in an apartment building next to High line Park in New York City. The picture was of escape staircase that I zoomed in so that it can look like the letter Z but the way I took the picture was at an angle that makes the stairs look like its going out of the picture. The sixth picture I took was in a  McDonald's in New York City.  The picture that I that I took was of the railing but  I took it close up and moved my camera to an angle.

The seventh picture that I took was in the entrance of the 33rd St. Subway Station in New York City. The picture was of the rubber protective mat that I zoomed in. The eighth picture was taken in front of the Manhattan Mall  in New York City. The part of the subject that I focused on was lights of a taxi cab. The color  contrast that shows is between white and red.

The ninth picture was taken in the Brooklyn Bridge. The picture focused on the beam that supports the wires in the bridge, this picture seems interesting to me because the beam is like the deck of the bridge and the wires are like the suspension cables. The tenth picture was taken of the top part of a sculpture that repeated itself. The interesting part of the picture is that the sculpture is decreasing a little of its size just like the AT&T bars.

The End Is Near......

Well to begin, throughout May I've learned a lot about photography and cameras. In our class we had assignments we had to complete. At the end of the semester we had to get our best photos out of our pictures we took all the month and write about them in a presentation held in the Shanley Gym. My ten were chosen and to make my life easier I'll explain them here.
My first picture is a photo taken on my first day of taking photos. I thought outside the box and decided to take the picture from a different angle so that the view will be as if you were above the court. Also the objects surrounding the gym were very interesting so that made me like the photo even more. My second photo I took on my second day of taking photos. It is a good photo because while walking through a bridge people don't look up and so I thought the lines and shapes were a cool picture to capture. It is a picture that people will ask what's that? That's a sign that your photo is a good one.
My third picture was taken in a field trip to Jersey City. I was walking and walking and then on the ground I saw something just laying there and comes out to be two fish tails. Then I knew it would be a good photo because when taking a photo from an angle of fish makes you want to just feel it and look at it from a different point of view. My fourth photo was taken in New York. I was looking all around for interesting objects and found a mailbox with an interesting lock. I took a picture of the lock using the rule of thirds and then I knew it was a good photo. The way the lock had a weird shape and the background which was peeling blue paint which also makes you want to feel it.
My fifth photo was taken in Highline Park in New York. I saw various flowers while walking but for some reason I liked this one the most. First of all what makes this photo a good one is that it focuses on that one flower with the bee on it. By the way i didn't know that bee was there, guess it was a lucky shot. But yeah it makes you want to say how much time did you stay to make the bee stay still. My sixth photo was taken at Highline Park in New York. It is a bench leading to some tourists looking at buildings or just walking to some other interesting things. This is a good photo because the lines are leading to those people and it feels as if you were walking and joining them.
My seventh photo was taken at the Brooklyn Bridge. It was a photo taken in a certain angle that most people won't see it as. It was one of the sides of the bridge that i found interesting there. This is also a good photo because it is as if you are on your way to some place you want to go or a destination like the end of the bridge. My eighth photo was taken in Brooklyn Bridge. It was a caution sign that i decided to take several photos of, but i took the photos from different angles and at the end this one was the better one. It's a good photo because I simplified the background which is the sky and making the sign an unusual shape.
My ninth photo was taken in Times Square. It was a sunroof I believe I took right next to Hooters.   I looked up and saw various lines and shapes that will really stand with the orange color. It was a good photo because it seems like a collage of shapes and lines that you just want to see somewhere. My tenth photo was taken in Central Park. I saw a tunnel and wanted to explore it. So I took photos of it several times and took one of an unusual view. It made it a great photo because of how the lines continue in an unusual pattern and how the shape of the light is like the shape of your eye. It make you want to believe that's your eye and you looking at the world you live in.
In conclusion, I liked all these photos and they all  were great in different ways. I did this to make it easier and get one homework assignment out of my hands. I described my final photos on the blog and now instead of doing this future work later i can relax and live more simpler. Stay tuned for more of our final days in this class.(time flies so fast i can still remember as if yesterday it was my first day of taking pictures and now im coming to an end.)

NYC

In NYC we went on a long mile trip on a skyline garden. On this path i found a beautiful red flower and proceeded on taking it. I focused in the flower and blurred the background.
This picture of Mr. Acherium was a juxtapose. There was a bus coming by and had a propaganda of one of the history channels show. At first i tried to take a picture of Rolle (a classmate) but as the bus moved and my focus switched to Mr. Acherium and at a moment glance took the picture.
This picture was taking by the NY stock exchange building. I focused in on the flag and i caught a glare of the sun in the picture.

K'saun my day in NY

My day was fantastic in NY. I liked it so much because there was so many interesting things to see and to watch. I pick the picture with the water because I think the fountain looked so good. i picked the with the torch because I thought it was unique to see a gas powered torch. the last picture i captured on the bridge and I tried to use rule of thirds.
