Experience in New York City

This past week the photography class has traveled to NYC three times. Our goal was to work on street photography and to practice finding the decisive moment. The first trip was to a new park above the city streets. The park was made on a above ground rail road track which was changed into a park. From the time we got to the park entrance untill 30th street I kept a focused eye on sights that could create a decisive moment. The main technique I concentrated on that day was focus.
The second day we went to the world trade center and the Brooklyn bridge. I was very excited about this trip because I never had a chance to see the world trade center even thought it was fully done. We set our meeting point to a very popular store and set out to take pictures. We made our first stop a park with a marvelous fountain in the center. This gave me a chance to play with my shutter speed and try to get the water to freeze while keeping the drops in focus. Next I took of for the Brooklyn bridge which was a decent length of a walk. After getting pictures there my group choose to return to the park but on the other side. Where we ran into these very friendly squirrels.
The last day was a very difficult day of photo taking for me because it seemed that I just couldn't find a picture that was worthy to be given the title decisive. So I had to think outside the box and took the chance to experiment with a bit of photo rule breaking.
Overall I learned a good amount from the trips to NYC and spanned my growth in the field of photography!
