Portrait Photograph by Evans S
If you have ambitions to be a professional photographer you must know how to take photo of people. Do you agree that people are vain, therefore as a photographer you must make them look good! How do you make people look good? Well I had the task to take a portrait of one of my classmates. I set up a background and had my subject sit in front of a window. I took my picture failing to realized that my 'White Balance' was incorrect. I used a shutter of 1/25, an aperture of f4.4, and an ISO of 800. The picture to the left was the final product.

ReplyDeleteI believe I am a great subject to work with. I also think you should of asked me to smile, In my opinion it would of made the photo look better.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure that you wanted to smile by your facial expression so I made the best of what I had. Yes, I do agree you were a great subject to work with.
DeleteNice job. You used the rule of thirds nicely
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice photo evans because the exposure in this photo is almost perfect and the rule of thirds is showed here. Also your subjects head is a bit cut off, maybe you should have got his whole head in the shot.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this comment, Ryan, although sometimes (and you see it done a lot in advertising), it's ok to 'cut off' certain parts of the head, if only to preserve the RO3.
DeleteEvans: this is a nicely done portrait, and I remember watching you go through the process of setting it up. Your subject, Xavier, in his comment above, makes an interesting point from the role of the 'model' and sometimes, we photographers can get lost in the creation of a photograph that we might forget to include the subject's opinions and feelings during the photo shoot. Otherwise, this is nicely done.
