Newark trip

On the trip to Newark we walked around a lot. I took lots of photos of different things. The goal was to walk to NJPAC but along the way we saw many cool things and a side of Newark we have never seen before. Most of the shots I got was of grass plains. We also along the way went to Rutgers college where I took photos of a bench that I like much. I learn much on the trip but the assignment was to take 20 photos using the rule of thirds.

I choose this photo because I think its one of my best use of the rule of thirds. This photo shows the focus point on the light post but also shows the background. The subject "light post" is not centered. I liked that from this angle the eyes would be mostly focus on the light post because it pops out. It also sticks out because its the only black thing in the photo everything else is green and full of live while the light post is still and non moving.

  3. This is a very good example of the Rule of Thirds, and there are also some interesting textures and contrasts in the photo, as you already pointed out. It's important that your readers also realize that this photo was taken using a compact camera; Ba-Sheim, you were able to accomplish this nicely composed photo using a very simple device. Good work.

  5. Wow, great photo Ba-Sheim. Definitely follows the Rule of Thirds and not only that, but you simplified the background which brought most of the attention to your subject. Once again great work on the photo.
