The assignment while in Newark was to take photos using the rule of thirds. The rule of thirds is a grid that is on your camera and you are supposed to line up your object with the lines. The rule of thirds gives a nice effect to your photos because you are not to put the object you are taking an image of in the center. While taking photos in Newark none of our images could be in the middle of the image. I found this assignment quite easy.
While in Newark there was inspiration everywhere we went. The key though was not to just take a picture of everything, but to think of your photo. While out in Newark I took a picture of a light and in the reflection was the American flag and it followed the rule of thirds. This is why the rule of thirds and this assignment was so easy, because all you needed was creativity. The rule of thirds is what gave most of my pictures such a great effect, because before when I took pictures I centered the image instead of putting it off to the side. The rule of thirds is what made my work so good.
Ryan this is a cool looking photo. I like how you can see the american flag in the photo. How did u get this picture it looks like a light bulb, but it does look pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteNice explanation Ryan, if anyone who was not a Photographer read this, they would know what we are trying to accomplish. Nice refection shot, very impressive how you managed to put the flag in a position that lies on the point for Rule Of Thirds. Good job.
