Portrait Photography by Ruben C

Today we learned about portrait photography. Portrait Photography is a photography of a person of a person or groups of people that displays the expression, personality, and mood of the subject. With the help of Michael "Nana" Crentsil  I was able to do this assignment. The background for this picture is the backdrop that Dr. Lansang uses for his yearbook picture. In all this was the final picture  of Nana.

  1. If Mike didn't have his hand their his chin would be too high.

  2. Nice picture. Like the model's pose. Did you use a reflector, Ruben? Because, I seem to be having a hard time trying to figure out whether you did or not in this photo.

  3. All in all nice photo, although the reflector would have helped with the exposure on Mike's face giving more definition.

  4. Ruben: the composition of the photo is good, with the subject in the appropriate place, but the overall exposure is wrong. As had been mentioned by your classmates, a reflector might have helped to bring the exposure to a more correct level. Also, did you check your exposure compensation? It looks like it was set to, perhaps, minus one. -DL

  5. I like the light on the left of the photo, but there could be more light at the right as well. I like the background to because it is not just a plain solid color and it works with the picture.
