Today was quite an interesting day; we went on a trip, a trip to NJPAC. I'll be honest, I enjoyed the trip. It was nice to do something different for once. Rarely do we go out places with each other in this school and that's what made today special.
We began taking photos right outside the court building. At first, it was difficult to find good photos to take but after a while of looking and taking a few shots, I began to get ideas. After a few minutes, we advanced onward, me taking pictures as often as possible. I figured that if I took a lot of pictures, picking twenty (20) when I got back to class would be a lot easier. We got to Rutgers after a while of walking and took more pictures in the open compound. Honestly speaking, Rutgers did not produce as many photos as other places we went to during this trip. It was okay, just not too much to take pictures of. I didn't get as many ideas there as I did walking in the city, which is understandable considering the fact that the city is a much more vast area. From Rutgers, we made our way slowly to NJPAC, taking even more pictures on the way.
We got to NJPAC after not too long a walk. NJPAC was a good place to take pictures, but like Rutgers, I ran out of ideas after a while. I took more pictures at NJPAC than I did in Rutgers. I think the city streets has much more to offer in terms of stunning photos than compounds do. After spending a good amount of time at NJPAC, we went out to eat lunch. I got to eat Chinese food! It is something I personally love very much and hadn't eaten in a while...yes, I ordered the regular. From there, we sluggishly made our way back to school. Despite the weight of this food, I decided after a while to push myself to take even more pictures, which got one guy's nerves. It might have been the result of a full stomach on his part, but at least I have more pictures to work with than he does.
By the end of this trip, I took about one hundred and eighty-two (182) pictures (including a few irrelevant ones I decided to keep). At a point, I labeled myself as 'photo crazy'. I definitely enjoyed this trip and look forward to even more trips like this in the future.
Nicely written, Gordon, and the photo that you posted is a very nice example of the Rule of Thirds. I'm glad to hear that you had a nice time during the trip, and that you've become 'photo crazy.' It's the best feeling, especially when you're in a photography class.
ReplyDeleteNicely done Gordon, i like how you show your picture of the "Rule Of Thirds" and how you describe about the trip.Good job you should keep on taking picture on the next trip too and great post!!!
ReplyDeleteGordon, this was very nicely written. You took out your experience and typed it up exactly how it happened. Nice picture as well it really describes the rule of thirds because your focusing on the leaves and there is very nice background of buildings. Keep it up!
